Vijayakanth, who has starred as hero in more than 100 Tamil films, floated his Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) in 2005. He has cut down drastically on his film assignments ever since and hasn't had a release for more than the past three years now. Among his sons Vijay Prabhakar and Shanmuga Pandian, the latter had made clear his intention to enter the film industry and take after his father. A Visual Communications student from Chennai's Loyola College, Pandian is getting launched as hero with Sagaaptham which will be produced by his father. The film would go to floors on Thursday (12th December) with a formal muhurat. Naveen is the script-writer of Sagaaptham.
