According to trade reports, Ivan Vera Mathiri has collected close to 7 crores at the Tamil Box Office. The occupancy over the weekend has been very good even though it is a budding actors' film. On an average, the film has got 70% occupancy for the film through out the state. The occupancy for Ivan Vera Mathiri in Chennai city comes close to 75 percent on the release day. It saw a marginal dip the following day but picked up well on Sunday (December 15). The reports emerging from Malayasia, Singapore and other countries say that the movie has done well at international circuit too. The highlights of Ivan Vera Mathiri are: Vikram Prabhu's performance, Surabhi's cute looks, Vamshi Krishna's acting and M Saravanan's decent screenplay. However, the movie is expected to be affected by this week releases like: Karthi's Biriyani, Jeeva's Endrendrum Punnagai and Aamir Khan's Hindi movie Dhoom 3.

Vijayakanth, who has starred as hero in more than 100 Tamil films, floated his Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) in 2005. He has cut down drastically on his film assignments ever since and hasn't had a release for more than the past three years now. Among his sons Vijay Prabhakar and Shanmuga Pandian, the latter had made clear his intention to enter the film industry and take after his father. A Visual Communications student from Chennai's Loyola College, Pandian is getting launched as hero with Sagaaptham which will be produced by his father. The film would go to floors on Thursday (12th December) with a formal muhurat. Naveen is the script-writer of Sagaaptham.
